Monthly Minutes and September Book Projects are due this week!!! As September comes to a close, there are a lot of things to keep in mind!
We have been painfully reviewing fragments and run-ons. Just when I think they have it...We will be reviewing subjects and predicates this week and launch in to a slower study of fragments and run-ons. We will continue to revisit this skill throughout the year, so before long we will all have mastered the skill! This week we will focus our language learning towards synonyms and antonyms.
We are still reading Charlotte's Web and are continuing to look at characters, setting, and vocabulary using context clues. Today, the kids did a WONDERFUL job with a context clues, dictionary, and thesaurus lesson. I was so proud of their efforts. This week we will journal about character traits and look at synonyms and antonyms. There will be a spelling test on Friday.
In science, we are finishing up our study of the Scientific Method. Students will take a quiz over the steps of the Scientific Method on Friday. Please look for a review sheet to come home on Thursday.
Just a few things to keep in mind:
Enjoy your week!
