I hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day weekend! We wrote in our journals today about how we spent our weekend ,and it seemed like my students had a lot of fun with their families! We are journal writing this week since we do not have a spelling list. We are working on writing for an extended time period, and I enjoy reading what the students write in their journals.
We are also reading nonfiction books about guinea pigs and recording facts that support our opinions about our little class critters, Max and Ruby. The students have taken me down this path ,as they are curious to learn about guinea pigs. This is also the perfect time to begin a persuasive letter to our parents to try to convince them to let the students take the guinea pigs home over the weekend:)
I am still looking forward to starting Charlotte's Web and I hope to begin it next week, as we discuss elements of fiction.
In science we are finishing up our Lab Team Roles and will discuss Lab Safety. We also wrote about why science is important and how it helps us in our everyday lives.
Please keep in mind:
Have a fabulous week!
