Welcome back from a well- deserved break! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. We are headed into the second semester with a lot to do!
In language arts we will be reviewing poetry and comparing the elements of prose and drama to the elements of poetry. We will also be doing Daily Grammar. Monday-Thursday students will work on a 5-10 minute grammar exercise. This will be a review of the grammar skills that we have learned so far. On Friday the students will take a quick quiz that reviews the skills.Students will also receive their January book project this week. Students will read a nonfiction book and create a text features file folder report. They will also take an AR test over the book.
We are starting our animals adaptation unit in science this week. We will be reading and discussing information learned from the science book. We will then begin a research paper over an animal and it's needs to survive.
A few things to keep in mind:
Have a terrific week!
